CASE #1
Client Type: Wholesaler
Target Market: Dealers and Sub-Dealers
Mission: To create a secure web site that will assist and support a network of 10,000 dealers, increase communications between the dealers and the wholesaler, provide tools and information to assist in marketing products, and help develop a sense of community and belonging.
Outcome
A dealer database was created containing all current dealer information and including a user name and password. Users are required to log in to access any portion of the web site, an encrypted cookie is then placed on the viewer's computer to maintain security while using the various features created for dealers.
An extensive calendar of events was created, allowing the dealers to see upcoming training seminars, and industry-wide events and a monitored chat-room was implemented that allows the dealers to exchange ideas and suggestions in 'real-time'.
Creation of three product related databases added the ability to deliver timely information, promotional offers and marketing matierials to assist the dealers in marketing the wholesaler's products.
The first database is used for e-commerce, allowing the wholesaler to sell selected items online directly to the dealers.
The second database contains monthly product features. Included in this file are pre-formated promotional flyers created as Word documents that the dealer can download and customize for their own use.
The third database contains "Internet Only" specials -- promotions that are time sensitive, and/or have limited quantities. Again, there are pre-formatted flyers the dealers can download.
Additional Features
Since the dealer database contains the dealer's complete contact information, (name, address, phone numbers, e-mail address, etc.), the dealer can now easily and quickly update their own customer records. This information is then updated into the company's accounting program to ensure the dealer's contact information remains current. This database also allows the wholesaler an easy way to e-mail all their dealers.
CASE #2
Client Type: Retailer - Appliances
Target Market: Consumers
Mission: To develop a web site that will help reinforce various media advertising campaigns; educate the consumer; and sell appliances online.
Outcome
The web site was created with the end user in mind, featuring monthly specials, rebates and discount information in one location. Current manufacturer's rebates are available for printing or reference.
Each page was created to assist users in researching various brand name appliances; giving detailed descriptions of models, product features, benefits and pricing information.
A database was integrated into the website containing continually updated pricing and feature information, allowing users to purchase the appliance of their choice and arrange for installation online.
CASE #3
Client Type: Value Added Reseller - Computer Systems
Target Market: Business-to Business
Mission: Creation of a web site that will showcase their capabilities; adding the ability for customers to place a service order online, allowing tracking of each order through a task-order database.
Outcome
A comprehensive service order system was created using secured database technologies, allowing the reseller to track the complete history of each service call and correlate the history of the customer's service activities, while providing privacy and security at the same time.
All users must log in to the system using their assigned user name and password. Their level of access is controlled and maintained by the reseller using an online web administration model. Users can be entered, updated or set to inactive at any time.
Technicians and customers can also enter tasks to be completed, which are then assigned to a specific technician for solution upon approval. Each technician enters the solution and details of work performed against each task. Customers can view all tasks entered for their account, receiving up to the minute information regarding task status and work performed.
This system also provides technicians and customers a way to track recurring problems, providing a trail of documented solutions.
CASE #4
Client Type: Manufacturer - Ceramics
Target Market: Distributors
Mission: Creation of an online catalog of their products; Build a secured portion of the site accessible only to their dealers to be used for disseminating news; display the dealer's current account balance, order history, and order status.
Outcome
The online catalog was created with an eye to the future. Instead of just displaying the catalog items, product data was placed into a e-commerce storefront with the ability to order online disabled. This ensures that e-commerce is a simple process when desired. Although the incremental cost of this method is nominal, the cost-saving benefit of not having to re-create the catalog in the future is realized.
The distributor section provides the ability for the manufacturer's highly-customized accounting program to download account data directly into their website. Working with the existing accounting software vendor, we created the ability for distributors to use the website to check the status of their orders. Traditionally, customers used the manufacturer's customer service representatives to obtain this information. This feature cut their operating costs, justifing the entire web site investment.
CASE #5
Client Type: Retailer - Automobile
Target Market: Consumers
Mission: To provide consumers with the ability to view the auto dealer's inventory of new and used vehicles, access the auto manufacturer's site to get specific model information and obtain the most recent promotional offers, and sell ancillary items from their Parts Department through the internet.
Outcome
Two differenct databases where created, one for the cataloging and display of new vehicles, the other for displaying used vehicles. A bridge to tie into the retailer's accounting program was created, updating the inventory automatically.
New vehicle information is segregated by model, and a link is provided for each specific model to the manufacturer's website, allowing the viewer to obtain additonal model specific information instantly. The database may be searched either by model or price range.
The used car database displays detailed information for each listed vehicle, including a photo when available. The database is fully searchable, allowing the user to chose make, model, year or price range desired.
An e-commerce storefront was created for featuring products offered by the Parts Department, allowing customers to place their orders online. This system calculats shipping costs and obtains instant credit card authorization.
Each database is fully web administratable, allowing the retailer to update, remove or edit all information displayed to the user at any time. This allows the retailer to update their stock instantly, removing sold vehicles or adding new items to the online inventory at will.
